FC Cincinnati forward Boupendza to miss time after suffering broken jaw
FC Cincinnati forward Aaron Boupendza will miss multiple weeks of action after suffering a broken jaw.The club announced the news on Wednesday evening, saying Boupendza will undergo surgery to address the injury on Thursday.Boupendza is estimated to miss the next six to eight weeks of match action. The club said Boupendza sustained the injury off the field but did not elaborate further."The club hopes for his swift and full recovery, and we look forward to having him back on the field as soon as he’s available," FC Cincinnati said in a statement Wednesday.A 27-year-old forward from Gabon, Boupendza is third on FC Cincinnati in goals with two, trailing Luciano Acosta's four and Yuya Kubo's three.Boupendza has played in 10 matches to begin the 2024 campaign, starting five of them.At 5-2-3 to begin the season, FC Cincinnati currently ranks second in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF.
